LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A police spokesperson says the investigation into what happened at an apartment complex on McCullough Drive early this morning, is still in it's early stages.
However, now they're looking at this case as more of a sexual assault case as opposed to an attempted robbery.
Investigators canvassed the scene, trying to find any evidence that might help them identify the man who they say sexually assaulted a woman in her apartment.
Police say the man then grabbed at least a TV and took off.
He didn't make it far though, before dropping it in the grass, turning it into a potentially valuable piece of evidence.
After hearing about this latest violent act, some living in the area voiced their concern to our camera.
"Here lately the neighborhood has just been getting bad. And it's just the wrong type of people around children. And then they do these home invasions, make it dangerous for the children," said Angela Iwere.
Police are working with a limited suspect description, and haven't located any eyewitnesses yet.
Police are hoping someone in the area around the time of the incident, around seven o'clock this morning, may have seen something. Any information that might lead to an arrest is welcomed.
