Police make arrest in violent Georgetown shoplifting

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - Police have arrested a man wanted in a violent shoplifting at a shoe store.

Georgetown Police tell us Matthew Howard turned himself in at the police department Monday night. He's now in jail, being held on a $25,000 bond.

In January, police say Howard stole some items from Georgetown Shoes.

When a clerk tried to stop him, police say Howard punched her, then threatened to kill her and members of her familiy before getting away.
