LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police say at this time there are more questions than there are answers in a shooting that happened last night on Kingston Road.
Lexington police are waiting for the shooting victim to recover so they can get his side of the story.

Police were called to UK's Good Samaritan Hospital Thursday night around 10:30 after a man showed up with multiple gun shot wounds to his torso.

"He was immediately taken into surgery. He didn't have an explanation for why it happened. He wasn't brought by ambulance. That always raises suspicious on the hospital employees so they called us there," says Sherelle Roberts, with Lexington Police.

Police say their investigation lead them to 20-year-old, Sebastian Lee Smith and 37-year-old, Lou Emma Deaton on Russell Cave Road Thursday night.

"He was assaulted by two suspects during the commission of a burglary and that is how the shots were fired," adds Roberts.

While the investigation is ongoing, police have arrested and charged Smith and Deaton with second-degree burglary.

"Our officers went with the charge they had probable case for at the moment. They will continue to investigate," Roberts says.

Police say that more charges are possible.

"We are hopeful that he will recover and we will be able to speak with him," says Roberts.

We will continue to track this investigation and bring you updates as they become available.
