Robbery with screwdriver caught on tape

Updated: Mon 1:26 PM, Jul 16, 2012

Police are trying to figure out the identity of a man who stole money from the D and D Market in Science Hill and the manager says maybe someone will recognize the man in the surveillance video.

In the video given to 27 NEWSFIRST, the man's face is covered, he has a mask on and a hoodie up over his head. The crime happened just before 10 p.m. Friday at the store, which is just off U.S. Hwy 27 north of Somerset. The man was inside the store for several minutes, and the only weapon he showed was a screwdriver. The clerk wasn't hurt, but the owner says she was pretty shook up by the ordeal. Police say their only description was a man with black shirt, tan pants, gloves and a mask.
Police say they did track the man for a short distance with a K-9 unit but the dog lost the scent..probably when the man got into a car. If you recognize the man, you’re asked to call the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office at 606-678-6145. You can give information anonymously.
