Rail crossing in Kentucky reopens after train, car wreck

CALIFORNIA, Ky. (AP) - Campbell County police say a train crossing has been re-opened at California, Ky., site where a woman was killed when her car was struck by a train.

Police still are not releasing names of the victim, a 29-year-old female from Fairfield, or of a male passenger who was flown by Air Care to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The Kentucky Enquirer reports the incident happened about 8 p.m. EDT Sunday on railroad tracks.

Police did not say why the train collided with the car.

The extent of the survivor's injuries was not immediately available.

The incident is under investigation.
