Overnight skies stay cloudy with patchy drizzle and fog with a low of 30. We will stay dry for the most part of Christmas Day with highs in the reaching 40 and breezy winds. A big system begins to work its way northbound bringing us showers during Christmas night and into Wednesday. With recent runs of the computer models it still looks as if the heaviest snow will stay to our west and north. The area of low pressure will track right across us and keep the deepest moisture to the left of the center, meaning in western KY, IL, and IN.

We'll still see a big impact...heavy rain, gusty winds to 40 mph, and snow on the tail end that will be enough to cause some light accumulations (1-3" at best) as the cold front passes late Wednesday. Rain will begin late Christmas night with a wintry mix before the heaviest rain passes through Wednesday afternoon. Then a light snow in the afternoon and evening. The heaviest snow will be across northern KY and to our west. The snow will taper off to flurries on Thursday with highs staying in the 30s.
