Many miners, many whom were recently laid off, received support from their community today.
Jabo's State of Mine restaurant in Hazard held Coal Miners' Relief and Appreciation Day on Saturday for current and former coal miners.
The event included free food, door prices, and music.
Several organizations sponsored the event, including Coal Mining: Our Future, and TECO Coal.
