Man now charged in attack at Richmond gas station

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Richmond police tell us they have now charged one suspect after a brutal attack was caught on tape.

Police arrested 21-year-old Danthony Chambers of Berea on Tuesday, he's charged with assault.

Investigators tell us minutes after we aired the video of the attack on Monday they received several tips identifying the suspects.

Police say they have identified the second attacker, but are still searching for him.

The attack happened earlier this month at the Shell Station on Merrick Drive near the bypass in Richmond. Police say it began as a verbal argument between the victim and the two attackers, but escalated quickly.

The two men are seen mercilessly punching and kicking the victim, before he hits the ground, motionless.

Police say as a result of the attack the victim had to get seven staples in the back of his head.
