Semi overturns in Laurel County

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A truck driver is recovering after his rig overturned Wednesday morning in southern Kentucky.

The accident happened on KY-770, just off of exit 29 of I-75 in Laurel County.

Police say the semi had just pulled out of a truck stop when it flipped onto its side.

The driver, 46-year-old Sherrod McClain of Wisconsin, was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

It took emergency crews more than six hours to clean up the mess. Crews had to remove the load of tiles from the truck before they could upright the semi.

The crash slowed down traffic in the area. Drivers had be rerouted through parking lots of nearby businesses to avoid the crash scene.
