Police investigating reported shooting at Lexington shopping center

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are investigating a reported shooting at a Lexington shopping center.

Witnesses tell WKYT that three or four shots were fired around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Park Hills Shopping Center at the intersection of Man o' War and Pimlico Parkway.

Lt. David Biroschik with the Lexington Police Department told WKYT that one victim was shot in the shopping center's parking lot in front of the "Smokes & More" shop.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was shot in the leg and taken to UK Hospital where he was treated for non life- threatening injures.

Shortly after shots were fired, police arrested a man in a nearby Shell parking lot for drug possession but they do not believe he is associated with the shooting.

Police are still searching for suspects. They say the victim claimed that he didn't know the person who shot him.

WKYT will continue to gather details and have updates here on wkyt.com, and the latest on WKYT News This Morning.
