Shots fired outside Lexington apartment complex

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police are investigating shooting outside an apartment complex.

Dispatchers got several calls around five Tuesday morning about shots being fired at the Liberty Heights Apartments on Liberty Road.

The incident stemmed from a party that eventually spilled out into the neighboring parking lot, according to investigators.
When police arrived this morning, they learned multiple shots had been fired, but that no one had apparently been hit.
A woman involved in the incident told police she got into an argument with two men, whom she didn't know, in the parking lot, and that the argument got physical.

"Another man came out to sort of give some assistance to this woman who was being attacked by these two suspects. We're told the suspects then fired shots at the man who came to assist the woman," said Lexington Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts.

Neighbors tell WKYT that this is the second time in a month that shots have been fired at the apartment complex.
