Snow possible factor in deadly Grant County crash

GRANT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) -- If you have to travel north you can expect to move slowly up interstate 75.

This winter storm began dumping snow on the northern part of the state this morning, and it may have been a factor in one deadly crash in the area.

State police dispatchers in Dry Ridge say within the first few hours of the snow hitting Grant County there were about a dozen accidents, including one on the interstate that was fatal.

While counties to the south dealt with rain, heavy snow began coming down in Grant County in the afternoon. Roads soon had a layer of slush and snow forming.

On I-75, just south of Crittenden, Kentucky State Police say one person was killed in a two vehicle accident. They say a pickup truck was on the side of the interstate when the driver of a car traveling north lost control and hit it. The passenger say 28-year-old Nora Greene was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, 29-year-old Jacob Evans, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence.
