KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT)- Officials at a recreation center in Knox County said they are running into some serious financial trouble.
Officials said the Stivers Aquatic and Wellness Center is $73,000 dollars in the hole this year.
They said when the center opened, it overestimated how much money the center would make and underestimated its costs.
Officials said without help, they might not be able to pay $18,000 worth of bills for the month of August.
Barbourville's mayor has asked the city's tourism department to pay for some advertising for the center, in hopes of bringing in more people.
