LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Three teens are in custody after kicking in the back door of a home on Kingston Avenue Friday morning.
Two elderly sisters on Kingston Avenue heard loud knocking on their front door and called police.
While they were on the phone with dispatchers, the back door of the home was kicked in and the women ran out the front door, dropping the phone on the way.
The call was still active with 911 dispatchers as the women met with officers outside. Dispatchers were able to hear the three suspects inside of the home as they surrounded them.
Police were eventually able to talk the intruders into giving themselves up. One adult and two juvenile teenagers were taken into custody.
One suspect is 19-year-old Deandre Lewis. Lewis is charged with first degree robbery, tampering with physical evidence and two counts of unlawful imprisonment.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
