Three players hit it big in lottery

It was a great weekend for Kentucky Lottery players, as several prizes of a million dollars or more were won.

A lucky player who bought a Powerball ticket at the Carrollton Chevron, on Highway 227, matched the five white balls, but not the Powerball, in Saturday night’s drawing. That person won a $1 million prize.

The same thing happened with a ticket sold at Pal’s, in Oak Grove. However, the player spent an extra dollar to upgrade their purchase with the Power Play option, and as a result their $1 million prize increases to $2 million.

On Friday night, a Mega Millions player in Kentucky matched the five balls but not the Mega Ball, winning $250,000. That ticket was sold in Louisville, at the Five Star Food Mart on Hillview Boulevard.

Winners have 180 days after the date of a drawing to claim their prize.
