Two badly injured in crash on Mercer/Boyle County line

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Two people are badly injured after a crash at the Mercer/Boyle County line.

It happened Friday night just before 11 p.m. at the intersection of Faulkner Station Road and U.S. 127.

When officers got there, they say two passengers were trapped inside the car after they say the car ran a stop sign and a semi t-boned it. The driver of the semi was uninjured.

Both passengers were airlifted to UK Hospital, and Highway 127 was shut down for some time after the crash. We're told they're both in critical condition, facing life-threatening injuries. Both passengers are males. Their names have not been released.

Deputies say alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
