MIDWAY, Ky. Two young women died early Friday morning in a crash on Highway 421 that the Woodford County Coroner said was "most likely" weather related.

Destinee Barr, 18, was driving a Kia passenger vehicle when her car was hit by a pickup truck shortly after midnight near the intersection of 421 and 341 in Midway. Barr and her 19 year-old passenger, Marissa Elmore, both of Bullitt County were killed. The coroner pronounced them dead at the scene.

A third teenage passenger, Miranda Smith, was injured and taken to UK hospital where she is in fair condition.

All three girls graduated from North Bullitt High School last May. The school has grief counselors on hand today to help students deal with the loss of their former classmates.

The driver of the pickup truck was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The coroner told WKYT that the crash was most likely weather-related because it had been "pouring rain" at the time.
