Two women charged in large marijuana grow in Lexington home

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police have arrested two women after discovering a huge marijuana grow operation in a Lexington home.

Police searched a home on Londonderry Drive, in the Cardinal Valley neighborhood on Wednesday. Inside, police say they found 94 marijuana plants.

They arrested 25-year-old Yajaira Nunez. She is charged her with cultivation and possession of a forged instrument.According to the arrest citation, Nunez had two permanent resident cards that were both fake.

Police also charged 50-year-old Irma Nunez, who lives in the home, with cultivating marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both are due in court Thursday afternoon to answer to the charges against them.
