Vigil held to remember Lexington college student

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- A family is remembering the life of a Lexington college student murdered two years ago today.

Tommisha Taylor came home to visit family after her first year of college when someone knocked at the door.

When Taylor answered police say she was gunned down.

Now the family says they have a sense of peace and they're happy because closure could soon be on the way.

"Right now we're happy, as I said before we have a trial date coming and we're looking forward to that to where we can get some closure."

The family says they try to remain positive because that is the way Tommisha lived her life.
