ROCKCASTLE County, Ky (WKYT) - The man who was killed in an accident on I-75 on Sunday had just gotten married Saturday, according to the Madison County Coroner.
The Madison County coroners office has confirmed that 19-year-old Nick Mills of Lexington was killed after his vehicle ran into the back of a semi on Sunday on I-75 in Rockcastle County.
The Coroner tells us Mills had just gotten married on Saturday.
Sheriff's deputies say a semi traveling southbound jackknifed and got stuck in the median near mile marker 67 in Rockcastle County.
Authorities say that part of the truck was sticking out into the northbound lane of I-75.
"That caused another semi to stop. When that vehicle stopped there was another vehicle that ran into the back of it, ran up underneath it," said Deputy Sheriff Matt Bryant.
Mills was taken to a Berea hospital. The Madison County coroner confirms that he died there.
Authorities say wet roads contributed to the crash.
"Very hazardous out here, roadways are very wet. They're getting colder by the hour and there's heavy traffic right now with some early spring break traffic and it's just pretty treacherous right now," Bryant said.
