FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Children ages 3 to 16 can show off their strengths while learning about Kentucky wildlife during the Wildlife Olympics at Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort.
There will be three age categories, and prizes will be given to the top three finishers in grip strength, casting accuracy, long jump, timed race and archery events.
No registration is required, and the event is included in general admission to the center, which is $4 for adults and $2 for those 5 to 18 years old. Children younger than 5 are admitted free.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources operates the Salato Center, located off U.S. 60, about 1 ½ miles west of the U.S. 127 intersection.
The Wildlife Olympics will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. EDT this Saturday.
