CINCINNATI (AP) - FAA records show that a wing walker and aerobatic pilot killed in a fiery crash at an Ohio air show over the weekend had clean safety records.
An agency spokesman told The Associated Press on Monday that neither wing walker Jane Wicker nor pilot Charlie Schwenker had accidents in the past or were disciplined for any reason.
The information was the result of a public-records request.
Wicker and Schwenker were killed Saturday in a crash captured on video and witnessed by thousands of horrified spectators at the Vectren Air Show near Dayton.
The cause of the crash is not yet known.
The 44-year-old Wicker was the mother of two teenage sons and was engaged to be married next year atop an airplane.
Schwenker was 64 and about to celebrate his nine-year wedding anniversary.
