Woman assaulted after finding two thieves in her Lexington home

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A woman was assaulted today when she came home to two strangers inside her apartment in Lexington.

Police tell us the incident happened on the 1300 block of Alexandria Drive in Lexington.

A woman tells them she was gone for an hour and when she came home two individuals were inside her apartment. The woman claims the individuals were loading up furniture and other valuables from the apartment into a vehicle.

When the woman confronted the individuals she was assaulted. Police say she suffered minor abrasions and did not request to be taken to the hospital or receive treatment.

The victim claims there was a man and woman in her apartment. She says the man was a Hispanic male, around 5'7" tall, short hair and looked to be in his early 20's. She says the woman was a black female with light skin, shoulder length hair, looked to be pregnant and looked to be in her early 30's.

Police say the two suspects entered to apartment from a side window.

The victim in this case was unable to get a clear vehicle description. The suspects fled in the vehicle in an unknown direction.

Police are asking anyone with any information in this case to please contact them as soon as possible.
