LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A woman now faces charges after a police standoff.

36-year old Nancy Stamper is charged with wanton endangerment and violating a protective order.
The charges stem from a standoff at a home on Parkers Mill Road.

Lexington Police were called to that home on Tuesday night for a report of shots fired. A man there told officers that Stamper fired approximately five shots at him.

When police tried to get inside, they say Stamper refused to come out. She eventually surrendered. Investigators say they found a gun on the mantle near where Stamper was sitting.

She was taken to the hospital from the scene. She was later arrested and taken to the Fayette County Detention Center.
