David Williams concentrates efforts in GOP stronghold

RUSSELL SPRINGS, Ky. (AP) - Republican gubernatorial candidate
David Williams has returned to his political roots in the final
days of Kentucky's primary campaign, canvassing for votes in the
GOP stronghold in southeastern Kentucky.
With a big lead in the polls, the state Senate president and
Burkesville lawyer turned his attention Thursday to getting voters
to the polls on Tuesday.
Williams faces Jefferson County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw and
Louisville businessman Phil Moffett in the GOP primary. The winner
will face Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear and independent candidate
Gatewood Galbraith in the fall general election.
Moffett and Holsclaw campaigned in central Kentucky on Thursday.
