LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Republican gubernatorial candidate David
Williams is embracing a staunchly conservative plan for Kentucky
while accusing the incumbent governor of having no agenda.
Williams took aim at Gov. Steve Beshear while kicking off a bus
tour Monday in Louisville. Williams touted his plan to eliminate
state corporate and personal income taxes and his opposition to
abortion. He wants Kentucky to join the legal fight against
President Barack Obama's health care law.
The harshest words against Beshear came from Williams' wife,
Robyn, who accused Beshear of lying to Kentuckians about the status
of the state's rainy day fund and its recovery from recession.
The attacks come a little more than two weeks before the Nov. 8
election.
Beshear has been touting his job creation efforts in the face of
a sour economy.
