Legislative Decision On Reconvening Not Made

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky lawmakers squabbled yesterday, but didn't say if they will reconvene Monday. They were apparently ready to pass an energy bill on Monday, but Governor Fletcher has said he wants the House and Senate to agree on a bill before he calls the session.

Republican Senate President David Williams and House Democratic Leader Rocky Adkins have expressed uncertainty that negotiating teams for the two chambers will meet tomorrow and that the session will start Monday.

Adkins says he's not sure if enough House negotiators could attend a meeting tomorrow. Adkins and Williams are among the many legislators who were in Boston most of this week for the convention of the National Conference of State Legislatures.
