A rally is planned for Wednesday in hopes of toughening an anti-bullying law in Kentucky.
Several students testified before the house education committee at the capitol Tuesday, saying that despite the law, they are still being harrassed and bullied when they go to school.
An amendment to House Bill 370 would protect victims at school-sponsored events and add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes to the current law.
The committee voted 21 to 1 to approve the bill.
It now heads to the full house for debate.
Supporters from across Kentucky plan to gather at the capitol Wednesday afternoon.
They will rally for the passage of House Bill 370 and statewide fairness legislation.
