FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - A Kentucky basketball icon, a former
Louisville mayor, and a longtime campaign adviser have brought star
power and political acumen to Kentucky's search for lieutenant
governor.

The next stop for Republican Richie Farmer, Democrat Jerry
Abramson and independent Dea Riley will be Monday at 8 p.m. EDT in
the Lexington studios of Kentucky Educational Television.

Farmer played shooting guard on the 1992 University of Kentucky
basketball team dubbed "The Unforgettables." He's been hammered
throughout the race by opponents who have tried to portray him as a
wasteful spender during eight years as the agriculture
commissioner.

Farmer signed on with Republican David Williams, who won a
three-way primary for the right to challenge Democratic Gov. Steve
Beshear and Abramson. A second challenger, independent Gatewood
Galbraith, a Lexington attorney, recruited Riley.
