The days when some Kentucky counties were reporting unemployment rates above 20 percent have apparently ended.
The Kentucky Office of Employment and Training released a report
Thursday showing no counties with jobless rates at that level in
March.
Menifee and Jackson counties recorded the highest unemployment rates at 18.5 percent each, followed closely by Magoffin County at 18.4.
Lewis, Metcalfe and Clay counties each had jobless rates above
15 percent.
The report noted a decline in unemployment rates in 108
counties.
Fayette and Woodford counties recorded the lowest jobless rates
at 7.9 percent each. Webster, Oldham, Ohio, Madison, Union, Boone,
Caldwell, Calloway, Hancock and Shelby counties had jobless rates
below 9 percent.
