Some Kentucky lawmakers are fuming over a proposal in Florida they say could just fuel Kentucky's drug problem.
Right now, Florida doesn't have a system to track prescription drug sales, like Kentucky does.
Florida lawmakers have approved the creation of such a system, but Gov. Rick Scott, who recently took office, has included language to eliminate the program in his proposed budget, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.
Kentucky Lt. Gov. Daniel Mongiardo told the Herald-Leader, "What they're doing by this is basically setting up billboards across the country saying, 'Come To Florida and get your drugs'. Unfortunately, the end result is people dying."
The legislature could override Gov. Rick Scott's proposal.
