Man tied to McConnell recording has defense fund

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - One of the men tied to a secret recording of U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell has set up a fund to pay his legal bills.

Curtis Morrison created the fund Monday through the website . He raised $185 in three hours. His goal is $10,000.

On his blog he says he hired a lawyer, although the attorney was not named. Morrison also wrote that he's cooperating with the FBI, which is investigating the February recording of McConnell and his campaign aides at McConnell's Louisville campaign headquarters. Mother Jones, the left-leaning magazine, posted the recording on its website last week.

Morrison's blog, , linked to the fundraising site. He did not respond to an email from The Associated Press. His cell phone's voice mail was full.
