New design for Rupp Arena expected soon

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Mayor Jim Gray talked taxes and Rupp Arena Tuesday afternoon during his annual state of the city address.

The mayor says he wants a referendum that would allow voters to decide on a one percent local sales tax.

If approved, he says the tax could generate $34 million a year for specific capital projects.

Mayor Gray also says in the next few days, the city will unveil a new design for Rupp Arena, the convention center and parts of town branch commons.
