Push for statewide smoking ban continues

The push for a statewide smoking ban will pick up steam Wednesday at the state capitol.

The American Heart Association will hold a rally in the capitol rotunda at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Another rally in support of such a ban took place a month ago.

Organizers of that rally said their research shows a majority of Kentuckians in favor of outlawing smoking in public places.

However, opponents say a statewide ban will hurt businesses in a rich tobacco heritage state, like Kentucky.
