Beginning Thursday, you will likely hear more talk about the possibility of a statewide smoking ban.

One group pushing for a ban on smoking in all workplaces, including restaurants and bars, says it will release a poll Thursday in the Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort.

Smoke Free Kentucky says that poll will show widespread support for a statewide ban.

The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce also lists a smoking ban as a high priority.

Governor Steve Beshear recently said the time will come for a smoking ban. He says he likes the idea personally but indicates he is not sure if the longtime tobacco producing state of Kentucky is ready for that step.
