We're now less than 24 hours before the polls open in Kentucky, and the candidates for U.S. Senate spent the day before the election pushing for votes.

Both Republican Rand Paul and Democrat Jack Conway criss-crossed the state by air Monday, making several stops.

Paul and Conway both made stops at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington Monday afternoon, just an hour apart from each other.

Along with Lexington, both candidates made stops in Paducah, Owensboro, Bowling Green, Hazard, northern Kentucky, and Louisville Monday.

Paul made a stop in Ashland as well.

At each location, the candidates held a rally with their supporters.

While in Lexington, Paul addressed recent ads from the Democratic Party.

"My hope is that voters will reject the politics of personal destruction, and I think that may be what these polls are showing," Paul said.

The latest polls show him in the lead for the U.S. Senate. However, Conway disagreed.

"I don't believe it, my pollsters have us at a dead heat," Conway said. "We're getting great feedback, people are energetic working the phones."

Many people across the country have been watching this race closely.

Conway ended his day in Louisville, with a rally where former President Bill Clinton was on hand.

Paul ended his day in Bowling Green.
