Horse Mania is again galloping its way back to Lexington.
It's the project that brought dozens of brightly painted and elaborately decorated horses to town back in 2000. Now, just in time for the FEI Alltech World Equestrian Games the charity project is returning again. 79 horses will be sponsored by local businesses, decorated by artists, and then auctioned for the arts in Lexington.
Mayor Jim Newberry and officials with LexArts announced the project today. The decorated horses will hit the street beginning July 2010 and will be on display until December until they are auctioned.

That explains why I saw 3 horses and a pair of boots on the back of a flatbed today.
