Former teacher found guilty

A former teacher accused of rape and sodomy is found guilty on Tuesday.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports a jury found former teacher Jack Russell Hubbard guilty of four counts of 3rd-degree sodomy and one count of 3rd-degree rape.

Hubbard was accused of raping Carol Lynne Maner, and sodomizing Thomas "Beau" Goodman, while both were students at Beaumont Junior High School in the 1970's.

One of the alleged victims, Maner, won a nearly four- million dollar verdict against the Fayette County School Board in 2007.

She claimed the board ignored a pattern of sexual abuse by teachers.
