LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The body of a man found decomposing in a car at the Eastland Shopping Center on Saturday has been identified.
The Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn has identified the body as 34-year-old Roby Kirk Leech II of Nicholasville.
Leach was found deceased in a vehicle parked at the Eastland Shopping Center around 3:30pm Saturday afternoon.
Officials say the body appears to have been in the car for several days.
The cause of death is still pending toxicology reports. Foul play is not suspected.
It was a scary situation for shoppers at the Eastland Shopping Center Saturday, after a man's decomposed body was found in a car in the parking lot.
Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn says they got the call around 3:30 p.m., and when he arrived to the scene, he says a man's body was in the driver's seat of a car with the windows rolled up.
Ginn tells WKYT that foul play is not suspected in this case, and believes the cause of death was an overdose, possibly due to heroin because it appears the man died suddenly.
It is unclear who found the man's body but the coroner believes the man died in the parking lot several days ago because of how decomposed the body was.
The coroner also believes this could be a heroin overdose because of the recent increase in heroin-related deaths over the past few years.
Investigators are not releasing the man's name or age at this time.
