2 Kentuckians arrested on drug charges following MTV reality show

ASHLAND, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police say they have arrested two people after the airing of a reality television episode.

Police arrested Cortney J. Howard, 26, and David Robert Nickell, 33, after they were featured on an episode of 'True Life: I'm Addicted to Pills' which aired on December 9.

Kentucky State Police were notified the following day by the Carter County Attorney's Office that the two were featured in the episode and that it captured numerous violations of the law.

State police along with the Carter County Attorney's Office began an investigation into the criminal activity that was featured on the show.

An arrest warrant was obtained for both individuals following the investigation.

Howard was arrested on December 20 and is lodged in the Carter County Detention Center. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a minor, and theft by unlawful taking.

Nickell was also arrested on December 20 and is lodged in the Carter County Detention Center. He is charged with trafficking a controlled substance.

The investigation is ongoing by state police and additional charges are pending.
