Arrest warrant issued for Tuberculosis patient

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CNN) — Sacramento Police say they have issued an arrest warrant for a man, not because he committed a crime, but because he may pose a public health risk.

Officials say a Stockton, CA man stopped taking his TB treatment, putting the area at risk for contracting the disease.

He was last seen two months ago in Stockton.

His disappearance leaves officials worried.

So far this year, 22 new cases of TB have been reported in the county.

The man faces up to a year in prison for not complying with health officials and skipping out on his treatment.
