NEW YORK (AP) - Fist bumps spread fewer germs than handshakes and even high-fives.
That's what researchers in Wales say.
Researcher David Whitworth says fist bumps spread only one-twentieth the amount of bacteria that handshakes do.
And, he says high-fives pass along about half the germs handshakes do.
The results of his study are online in today's American Journal of Infection Control.
