JERUSALEM (AP) - Israel's incoming Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu says he will present his new government to parliament for
approval next week.
The parliamentary vote is expected to pass, clearing the way for
Netanyahu to take office. He did not give an exact date for the
Netanyahu has been trying to put together a majority in the
120-seat parliament since last month's national election. He sealed
the coalition late Tuesday after the centrist Labor Party agreed to
Netanyahu said earlier Wednesday that his government would be a
"partner for peace" with the Palestinians. Facing the prospect of
a clash with the Obama administration, Netanyahu has been trying to
soften his hard-line image in recent days.
