BAGHDAD (AP) - At least eight people were killed and a dozen
wounded when a suicide bomber attacked a police station in the
northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
U.S. and Iraqi officials say the truck bomber plowed through a
sandbag barrier outside a police station. The casualties include
both police officers and civilians.
Meanwhile, the British military transferred over coalition
command of the oil-rich southern province of Basra to the United
States. It's latest step toward the full withdrawal of the
remaining 4,000 British troops from Iraq by the end of May.
