BAGHDAD (AP) - A day after President Barack Obama visited Iraq,
a bomb left in a plastic bag exploded near the most important
Shiite shrine in Baghdad.
Seven people were killed and more than 20 wounded.
The blast occurred in the same neighborhood where an infant was
rescued from a burning car Tuesday following an explosion that
killed his mother.
Today's attack was part of a wave of violence that hit Iraq this
week, primarily in Shiite areas of Baghdad.
Yesterday, Obama spent five hours in the war zone and told U.S.
troops "there is still a lot of work to do" in Iraq despite the
new focus on the conflict in Afghanistan.
