Texas Judge Allows Collection of Dead Son's Sperm

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A Texas woman says she wants her dead son
to "live on" -- and a judge's ruling may help her do just that.
The judge granted her request to have someone harvest sperm from
the son's body so she can have the option of carrying out his wish
to have children.
Nikolas Evans was punched and fell outside an Austin bar last
month. He died Sunday. His mother, Marissa Evans, has told the
Austin American-Statesman newspaper that he wanted to have three
sons someday. She says he even picked out their names: Hunter, Tod
and Van.
The Travis County judge has ordered the county medical
examiner's office to continue storing the body at the proper
temperature until the sperm can be collected.
