LITTLETON, Colo. (AP) - Columbine High School in Littleton,
Colorado is closed today on the 10th anniversary of the massacre
that killed 12 students and teacher Dave Sanders.
A private service for families of victims is planned tonight at
a memorial next to the school.
Hundreds attended a sunset candlelight vigil yesterday.
A steady stream of visitors moved slowly around the memorial as
the sun settled behind the Rocky Mountains Sunday. Once darkness
fell, some of the 1,200 candles handed out by the foundation
flickered in a light breeze. Wildflowers or floral bouquets rested
on each of the tablets bearing the victims' names.
Columbine Memorial Foundation president Kirsten Kreiling says
it's a time for the community to come back together again as it did
after the shootings.
