BAGHDAD (AP) - Iraqi police say a car bomb has killed 15 people
and wounded about 40 at a Baghdad produce market.
Hours later, another car-bomb attack in the Iraqi capital killed
two people and wounded six others. Authorities say the bomb
apparently targeted a police patrol, but missed.
The blasts follow a sharp rise in attacks in Iraq last month. April was also the deadliest month for U.S. troops in Iraq since
September 2008 with 18 reported deaths.
