WASHINGTON (AP) - The battle lines are clear as senators
continue working to overhaul the nation's health care system.
For Vermont Sen. Bernard Sanders, having the government provide
health insurance could prevent thousands of needless deaths.
But Republicans like Tennessee Sen. Lamar Alexander warn the
government would wipe out private insurance companies.
The Senate Finance Committee's already delayed consideration of
its bill as senators try to slash the cost from 1.6 trillion
dollars over ten years to below a trillion.
