Powerful bomb injures dozens in Spain

MADRID (AP) - Authorities in Spain say a powerful car bomb has exploded near a Civil Guard site in the northern city of Burgos.

The blast hit outside a barracks housing police officers and their families.

About 46 people have been injured, mostly by flying glass.

The attack is being blamed on the Basque separatist group ETA.

Television images show considerable damage to the 14-story barracks building, and some walls blown in by the power of the explosion.

The blast also left a crater that had filled with water from broken underground pipes.
